“A” List Agave – SipLebrity Fall 2010
“The Burt Reynolds”
SPIKE TVs’ Back Nine star John Schneider (who attained television icon status via The Dukes of Hazard) mixes things up on the set of his new feature film, Doonby, with El Grado, his tequila of choice. In Doonby, he whips up a little magic with The Burt Reynolds, inspired by a trick fellow icon Reynolds taught him 20 years ago.
“Fill the shot glass to the brim with El Grado Blanco Tequila. Tip the beer glass upside down. Reach into the beer glass and sit the mouth of the shotglass on the bottom. Keeping the shot glass firmly attached with a finger, turn the beer glass right-side up. The suction formed by the shot glass should be sufficient to keep it in place. Fill the glass with Corona and finish with a wedge of lime to the rim, then drink it like normal. The tequila slowly leaks out of the shot glass into the Corona and adds its own flavors to the beer.”
Timber! The reigning king of all media can now make the royal claim of having a tequila all his own, Tequila 901, complete with a bevy of beautiful recipes. The Pepino, created in cooperation with our MixMaster Junior Merino, is the perfect showcase for Timberlake’s contribution to popular tequila culture.
