THE DALMORE LAUNCHES CIGAR MALT RESERVE

From The Baddish Group’s Newswire:

New York, NY: Whiskey enthusiasts and cigar aficionados alike are rejoicing with the long awaited release of The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve. The highly anticipated new expression, aimed to please cigar-loving whiskey drinkers, will be introduced to the U.S. Market in August.  The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve was already awarded with a Gold Medal in the 2011 BTI Competition in June.

“So many of our fans would ask about a cigar malt,” says Jorge Gutierrez, Vice President of The Americas Region for Whyte and Mackay,  “and many were disappointed when one was not available. Now with Cigar Malt Reserve, those fans and more will get to experience the lush, full flavors of a single malt whisky crafted expressly with cigar pairings in mind,” he added.

Crafted by Master Distiller Richard Paterson, himself a fan of single malts and cigars, this extraordinary expression is the ultimate accompaniment to a cigar.  Top notes of orange marmalade, honey and citrus fruits combine into a sensual aroma while the oloroso sherry wood delivers intense notes of crushed almonds, cinnamon and spice that round out the nose of this remarkable expression.  On the palate, a rush of creamy vanilla and notes of toffee and sweet pineapple open followed by an explosion of rich mango, crushed pear and kiwi.  The deep amber liquid, carefully aged in oloroso sherry wood (70%) and American white oak bourbon barrels (30%), glitters with gold highlights.

“When imagining this Dalmore expression, I went back to my memory bank of unforgettable occasions when I had the opportunity to enjoy a fine cigar and an exceptional single malt.  The goal in creating the Cigar Malt Reserve was not only to provide single malt fans with an incomparable experience” he added, “but also to make an expression that pairs with the many extraordinary cigars available. I believe the new whisky is a succinct expression of pleasure,” he said.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve is 44% abv (88 proof) with a suggested retail price of  $125 for a 750ml.  The new expression, in a bottle emblazoned with The Dalmore’s signature stag emblem, comes elegantly packaged in a handsome gift box.
