The Feminine Persuasion
Lorrie Morgan
Something in Red Sangiovese by Belle Meade Plantation
The country music legend not only supports the American Heart Association’s GO RED FOR WOMEN campaign but also puts her money where her mouth is both on stage and off. As an avid cook who love to entertain with wine, Moore collaborated with the Belle Meade Plantation Winery in Nashville to produce Something in Red, a food-friendly American Sangiovese .
“I love the dry, cherry and herby flavor of this wine,” Lorrie says. “It’s so food-friendly and works with meals that can be tricky, like dishes containing tomatoes or acidic tomato sauces. Sangiovese goes beautifully with white beans, mushrooms, and grilled red meats. I love it with buffalo burgers and I’ve recently been reading a lot about the health benefits of this lean meat! It may seem surprising, but occasionally I’ll pair my wine with fish, especially grilled or roasted.”
